We’re not sure who came up with this “holiday,” but someone decided that National Oyster Day is August 5th, and while we celebrate oysters every day, we thought we'd give you a little something special in honor of this salty holiday! Introducing our Oyster Tasting Kit- an oyster sampling box featuring three different oysters, tasting notes and shucking tools.
The tasting box includes:
1 dozen Hog Island Sweetwater Oysters (Pacific): Our original oyster and the star of our show: A rich, and as the name suggests, sweet-tasting Pacific Oyster with a slightly smoky finish. Plump meat sits in a beautifully shaped, deep-cupped, fluted shell that is the result of rack and bag farming techniques.
1 dozen Pinkerton's Loot (Pacific): Grown in the deep, pristine waters of Barkley Sound on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, Pinkerton’s are a rich, buttery oyster with lovely plump meat. They boast a delightfully sweet melon flavor and a lingering mild brine to finish.
1 dozen Dukes of Topsail Oysters (Atlantic): Open ocean salt engulfs the nose and palate as soon as the shell hits the lips and ends with an incredibly sweet, scallop like flavor. With a nice, full-bodied texture and high salinity, Dukes have a strong butter and salt flavor with subtle notes of umami and celery.

Throughout the month of August, we will be rotating the oyster offerings based on supply but you'll always receive 1 dozen each of 3 different oyster varieties. This is the perfect box for a seasoned bivalve lover or someone new to the oyster world.
