Salazar oysters are a Pacific Oyster from Pickering Passage, WA. They are grown by Alonso Salazar, a small, family-run operation. They grow their oysters using a beach-grown/ bottom culture method on beaches throughout Puget Sound. Beach-grown oysters are grown on rocky beaches in the intertidal zone, which promotes hard shell growth and ultimately yields a stronger, sturdier oyster. Salazar's have subtle melon and seaweed flavors and beautifully ridged shells.
