Sustainably farmed by The Cultured Abalone Farm in Santa Barbara County, Red Abalone are a true California Native. Enjoyed for centuries along the California Coast and highly valued by Central Coast Chumash, wild abalone populations were nearly wiped out due to overfishing. Today, a handful of farmers are working to bring back this indigenous shellfish and help restore abalone to its rightful place as an iconic California seafood.
Red Abalone are fed with harvested and cultivated seaweeds and raised in cool, clean ocean water from the Santa Barbara channel. They have beautiful plump meat and a mild sweet flavor.
Each abalone weighs approximately 4 oz. and are sold individually.
